Title: Management Lifeguard
Job Description:
Responsible for managing daily pool operations
including, but not limited to, supervising lifeguard staff, maintaining
the facility, planning and conducting in-service for staff, and
performing lifeguard duties.
Minimum Qualifications:
Current certification in the following:
• American Red Cross Lifeguard Training
• American Red Cross CPR for the Professional Rescuer
The following certifications
are preferred:
• American Red Cross Lifeguarding Instructor
• CPO or AFO
Knowledge & Skills:
Knowledge and skills include:
• Thorough knowledge and application of lifeguarding surveillance
and rescue techniques
• The ability to instruct, assign, supervise, and evaluate
lifeguarding
staff in the performance of their duties
• Knowledge of the principles and practices of facility
rules, policies,
and procedures
• Leadership qualities and public relations skills
Experience:
Experience includes:
• A minimum of one season or three month’s lifeguarding
experience
• Previous supervisory (preferred)
Responsibilities:
Responsibilities include:
• Responsible for the safety of the facility patrons
• Supervise lifeguard staff
• Enforce all facility policies, rules, and regulations
• Respond to patron inquires and concerns
• Supervise the general care and cleaning of the facility
and the maintenance
and minor repair of equipment
• Inspects the facility on a daily schedule and reports
unsafe conditions
and equipment to supervisor
• Maintains records, reports, and information regarding
patron attendance,
water chemistry, weather conditions, and incidents
• Plans and provides for the pre-season and in-service training
of the
lifeguard staff
• Schedules lifeguard staff
• Performs lifeguard duties
• Completes additional duties as assigned by supervisor
• Tally weekly time sheets
